Time's Common Ground

What's the weather like where you are?
Here it is as gray as gray can be, but at least not as icy as yesterday!
While I sat in a waiting room yesterday for over an hour I realized two things everyone can talk about even if we've never met...weather and children (the waiting spiced up by many babies/children, bringing a smile to every face)
That's the gold in life no matter the weather so let's smile.
It makes dull places sunny in spite of the weather!

We share common weather
We trod common dirt
No one is too grand for
Life’s hardship and hurt

We cup common sorrow
Cherish common joy
The tasks of tomorrow
No one can employ

Time’s common appointments
Of birthdays and such
Reminds us that no one
Is above time’s touch

We share common Present
All, commonly crowned
With tick-by-tock essence
Of time’s common ground

…but what we do with Time
Ah, therein is the gap
Some savor it, climb it
While others just nap

Moderation...Except For One Thing

Live to enjoy a little of a lot!

Moderation,
We must confess,
Is the key to health
And happiness

We are creatures
Born to need
Over-indulgence
Is foolishness and greed

Extreme moderation
Even this cannot be
 Enough, but not too much
Makes the best you and me

So, we should live moderately
Except for one thing
Let’s all be guilty of
Extreme loving

Wealth of Wonder

It's a wet, wet Waking this morning...and icy! Be careful, drivers and walkers. I landed on my 'sitter' before I knew what happened, while pushing, (not carrying) the blue-bins full of recycling to the end of the driveway for pick-up!

Wealth of wonder waiting
Wakes the world with dawn
Moments compensating
For moments bygone

Morning is a candle
Soon and softly snuffed
By the ready ramble
Of hours lived-loved

Wise, the one who reckons
Now is Being’s prime
Wealth of wonder beckons
From a grace called Time

We are always leaving
Yesterday behind
Wealth of wonder weaving
Worlds within the mind

Awesome undertaking
Time’s moment-ous flit
Wealth of wonder waking
What remains of it

I'm torn between 'well of wonder' and 'wealth of wonder'...
Wonder is wealth and wonder is a deep, deep well!
So, you may choose the imagery that best works for you...
drawing from its well or wondering at its poor-man's-wealth!

Making The Best Of Time

Take time for snuggles
 Take time for tea...
Take time to make Time...
... a lovely melody

Let’s make today an adventure
This once-in-a-lifetime spree
Calls us to treasure the measure
Rife with life’s waiting-to-be

Let’s make today something special
Look with new eyes at its poise
Live it with thought truly thankful
For all its full-color joys

Let’s make it a celebration
Glad for life’s simplest of grants
For morning’s inauguration
Offers more than circumstance

Let’s treat today kind and friendly
Let’s try to do our part
To turn it into a memory
That brings a smile to the heart

Monday Muse for All-Week Dues...

Loving

Lord, may our simple service be
To love with kind humility
To show in every way we can
Our love for You
Through loving our fellowman

Glad

Not with what I wish I had
Nor with ‘if’ or ‘when’s vague plan
But to serve with a heart so glad
With what I have
Right where I am

Willing

Not for specific size or shape of task
But simply for willingness, Lord, I ask

Then, if I trust You, whatever the call
No task will be too great or small

Worthy

We are not all called
To a grand, noble quest
But we are all called
To give our best

And if our best
Is all we bring
Each quest will be
A grand, noble thing

Trusting

Trust in the Lord with all your heart
Our understanding sees but in part
Only God knows what is in store
So we should choose to trust Him more

Perseverance

Life is race
And a race, my friend
Is not won in the middle
But always, at the end

So, runner, be humble
Lest, caught off guard
We decide, as we stumble
Trying hard is too hard

Look well, fellow-athlete
For the winners are they
Not of smooth, swift beginnings
But who run faithfully, all the way

Worship

Not bloated blather of lip-art
But worship with work-hands and heart

***

More than pompous word-parades
Or loud charades of show
But gladness for the day God made
And His grace whereby we go

***

Who knows what this week
Will bring to you and me
Still, Lord, help us seek
To live thankfully

Happy Monday!
