Wonder-full Miracle

The little guy I babysit keeps my heart and days full of laughter.
He didn't even seem to notice his audience until he heard the camera clicking:)

The heart is like a miracle
Its hub, an open door
For when we think it should be full
There’s room for ‘just one more’

…and there is always room enough
For each new name and face
It is a miracle called love
The heart, its nesting place

Don't Forget To Dally...

Don’t forget to dally
Where the valley brims
With the sacred sally
Of un-tallied hymns

Don’t forget to savor
The flavor of rays
Soon its golden favor
Fades to yesterdays

Don’t forget to wander
Over yonder There
Freely, holy, squander
Wonder like a prayer

Don’t forget to listen
…the wooing of hours
Glistens in green bracken
And chicory flowers

Don’t forget to linger
Where earth’s lure is cast
Laden with bloom valor
On the fringe of Past

Don’t forget to dally
Pink-green-purple mirth
Falls prey to the daily
Undoing of earth

Fool's Paradise;-)

Sometimes we cajole thought
With silly flattery
Knowing full-well that what we think
Is not what others see

Sometimes we fluff our airs
In spite of hurts and aches
For compliments from Self to Self
Overlooks our mistakes

…and though fool’s flattery
From Self to Self is vain
Sometimes it helps us to be brave
Enough to love again

Like a Dream Come True...

Last evening summer officially arrived...
and what an entrance she made!
So flamboyant was her 'hello' that the south-east sky caught fire as arrival and departure coalesced.
...well, its off to the garden where some dusting, weeding and re-seeding is needed

Earth heralds Her with wild-bloom grace
And traces green with gold
Where Her first bud was bashful lace
It billows, bright and bold

The yellow heat that seeps through deeps
To bleed the dark awry
Is caught in starry butter-cups
Then tossed back to the sky

The lithesome gait of flip-flop feet
In soft percussion lilts
Like background banter on a street
Where joy’s sheet music spilt

The heavens, like a coronet
Of coral, sapphire, pink
Crowns morn-noon, ere dusk's silhouette
Is dipped in raven ink

The happiness of dream-come-true
Renews the hopeful heart
As flower-bells in endless hue
Scatter their flawless art

And every brook and crook and hill
Thrills, like a song unfurled
Where choristers of nature spill
A rainbow-colored world

Then we join in their anthems too
As Summer, like a dream-come-true
Ravishes countryside

Far-off Shores

Soaking in the silver silence of time's newest triumph...
at least, trying to, in between the escalating traffic-tempest

It is still,
Save for the trill of bird
And the blurred beginnings
Of another day
Filling crook and curve

Where silver-soft, aloft
Over croft,
City-scape and sea
The robe of dreamland’s lea
Is doffed

And into dawn’s saffron ilk
The traffic roars,
Severing the silk of silence
Like night shorn
From far-off shores
