The Aftermath of 'Let there Be'
PAD Challenge day 2
: write a he said-she said poem
He said, ‘Let there be’
And with these words gave birth
To mysteries and galaxies
Of the heavens and earth
She said, ‘Adam, eat’
He did and so did she
And thus began the curse of man
Where Eden used to be
He said, ‘let there be’
Knowing its utter cost
Of agony to set man free
By death upon a cross

Lost to the Madding Crowd...
PAD Challenge day 2
: write a he said-she said poem
She said ‘I want A Page’
He said, ‘no room enough,
The articles on politics
And news and ads for Stuff
Requires precedence
And I, the editor
Must deem for all the rest of them
What seems most popular
And poetry, they say
Is so passé,
And rhyme
Oh, dear! My dear,
That passed away
Way, way before your time!
So run along, wee thing
And do not bother me
For we are far too busy here
For things like poetry'
...she said, 'I want a page
Tell me, is there a place
Where there is room enough for me?'
He said, 'try cyberspace'

For a little while a local magazine published poetry by local poets among their ads for farm machinery and agriculture, recipes, stories on life as it once was etc...
The ads, articles, recipes, and stories remain but the poetry has disappeared.

From Her to Him
One more light-hearted fool poem for
PAD Challenge day 1
Come here funny-face, I love you
Whether three or eighty-five
There is something that God gave you
That makes me feel more alive
Can't live with you or without you
Chase you out then miss you, oh
There is something sweet about you
That just makes me love you so
You know how to push my buttons
I admit; I'm glad you do
I am not one of those women
That prefers vanilla-you
Sometimes I vow not to like you
For you drive me 'round the bend
But darling, I'm a fool for you
It is no use to pretend
Come here, funny-face, I love you
What a lot of laughs we've had
I would rather be fool-happy
Than high-stepping-smart, but sad

Before Fools in High Places Strayed...
(had to think about this song as I jotted this poem...by God's tender mercy I have lived it!)
PAD challenge day 1:
Write a 'foolish' poem.
At home, at school, at work they prayed
And pitied faithless frauds
Before fools in high places strayed
And worshiped lesser gods
Oh, once upon a Sunday morn
Churches were filled with praise
Of Holy, Holy before scorn
Of fools chose broader ways
A fool worships man’s lawless grants
Their gods, slack and uncouth
Deceived, hand-me-down ignorance
No longer knows the truth
But changeless God abides, His love
Lavishes human race
The fool replies ‘there is no god’
And God replies with grace

The fool says in his heart, "There is no God."
They are corrupt, their deeds are vile;
there is no one who does good.
Ps.14:1
Scripture has much to say about fools,
And only a fool ignores it.
This is not harsh…
it is Truth.
Live in the Moment But...
PAD Challenge day 1. Write a 'foolish' poem.
Live in the moment but do not forget
To prepare for the moments that have not happened yet!
(this reminds me, I need to stock up on candles after last week's three power-outage nights)
We do well to live in the moment
But are foolish to forget
The choice that takes but a moment to make
Is far from over yet
Wise is the one who considers
After the short-lived glee
Of instant gratification
What the end result will be

The prudent sees danger and hides himself,
but the simple go on and suffer for it.
Prov.22:3
Not Cool to be a Fool
It's Back!
April PAD Challenge; Day 1.
Write a Foolish Poem.
First mistake,
We learn from it
Second same mistake,
Not cool
Third time ‘round,
There's no excuse
Fourth time…
One can’t help a fool
