Of Age-old New

This is the day the Lord has made.
We will rejoice and be glad in it.
Ps.118:24

This is the day the Lord has made’
A gift to humankind
How much more dear its promenade
If we keep this in mind

From formless deeps its goodness seeps
Through fathoms none can scale
The faithful light of morning keeps
His words that will not fail

Dawn dances on dew-dappled girth
It haloes petal-plume
It pours Time’s newness from a berth
Beyond earth’s living room

Then praise the Lord for all things new
The old never replayed
Then we should raise a new song too
For this day He has made

  2. Such a vista over hill and dale ... I feel its peaceful mood. And what a glimpse of iris beauty. Love the line "Dawn dances on dew-dappled girth / It haloes petal-plume..."

Grateful for such beauty in our world. Wishing you a wonderful day ahead.

    1. I drink in that vista every single day and never, ever tire of its view! it changes with the seasons.
Yes, irises are so intriguing. One simply cannot resist peeking inside:)

Thank-you Brenda, for your visit and kind words. Hoping to be able to do more blog visiting in a few weeks. Some of the little ones I babysit will be home for the summer with their teacher-parents. Life keeps me literally hopping these days!

  3. Perfectly lovely in both words and images! I'm particularly appreciative, as my irises finally bloomed this year for the first time since I planted them two summers ago.

    1. Irises have a relatively short blooming period but so worth it! Over and over I'm amazed when I 'consider the lilies'! SO many varieties, each stunning in their own way!
