Ah, Today

...yes, even root-canals are a blessing in disguise! At least that's what I'm telling myself as I prepare to leave for the dentist. ;)

The Past is brushed away
The future lies before
Beneath our touch Time draws Today
And lays it on earth’s floor

The Past has shaped what is
The Future none can claim
But ah, Today; what Awesomeness
Permits its very name

The Past no man can reach
The Future is likewise
But ah, Today; what grace beseeches
Us to recognize

…what soon will spill to Past
From threads no hand yet held
While 'ah, today' slips through our grasp
As moments mutely meld

...to heart-scapes of the Past
The Future threads Time's loom
Where Today's font falls free and fast
...Past is a gaping tomb

Today's Exhortation...

We urge you, brethren, admonish the unruly, encourage the fainthearted, help the weak, be patient with everyone. See that no one repays another with evil for evil, but always seek after that which is good for one another and for all people.…1 Thess.5:14-15

  2. Thank-you Sasha. We're back and still smiling...well. crooked smiling anyhow.

On the long week-end my dentist moved from an old office to a brand new facility. On that Saturday Aug. 30th I broke a front tooth. When I called his office expecting to simply reach his answering machine he answered, explaining his reason for being in the office on a long week-end; moving day! When I told him what happened he said he'd call me back later if he can persuade his wife, a hygienist and dental assistant to help him. She is a wonderful lady and said yes, so on that Saturday night at 8:00 they cleared a spot amongst last minute building supplies etc to temporarily fixed my tooth!I thanked him saying this was over and above anything I expected (realizing as I said it that's likely what I'll say when I get the bill too!!) ugh!

This new office has a TV on the ceiling. All morning I watched News so I'm feeling quite half-informed since there was no sound on:) but I did see Alberta COVERED in summer snow!MY heart goes out to all of you in the west from Manitoba to Alberta! Keep warm.
